Jokubas Jankauskas earned athlete of the week honors after a strong week in which he notched five wins and a pair of NAIA “A” cuts, while he is ranked in the top-five of the NAIA in seven events.  Jankauskas opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 IM as he clipped the NAIA provisional standard with a  1:52.19.  That time is the fourth fastest time in the NAIA this season.  The sophomore is currently ranked second in the NAIA in both the 100 back and 200 back as he achieved the “A” standard.  Jankauskas clocked a 48.38 to win the 100 back, before touching the wall in 1:46.91 to pull away from the field and take top honors in the 200 back.  In addition to his individual success, Jankauskas was also part of a trio of winning relays.  He was on both UC’s winning 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay that went 1:30.88 and 3:17.88 both of which rank second in the NAIA.  The Siauliai, Lithuania native was also part of Cumberlands 800 free relay that clocked a 6:48.39 to win.
