Caden Petrey earned athlete of the week honors after helping the Pats go 4-0 on the week, including a three game sweep over Cumberland. The sophomore closed out the week with a .471 average, going 8-17 with 14 RBIs and five homers. Petrey posted a .571 on base percentage and a 1.353 slugging percentage over the four games. He opened the week with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored with three walks in the win over Midway. In the series opener against the Phoenix, Petrey hit an RBI single in the third inning to give the Patriots their first lead of the game. Petrey followed that up going 4-4 with four runs batted in and a pair of homers in UC’s 14-0 win over the Phoenix. In the series finale, the Williamsburg, KY native went 3-5 with three long balls and seven RBI. Petrey smashed a grand slam in the second inning, followed by a two-run shot in the sixth. He closed out the game with a solo shot in the eighth as Cumberlands won the game 14-9.
