Benz earned male player of the week honors after hitting .500 with four homers and 13 RBI’s over the weekend. In the second inning of game two against Kentucky State Benz crushed a grand slam over the centerfield wall to but the Patriots 6-2.  He later walked and scored in the next inning as well.  Benz followed that up by adding a pair of home runs in the first game against Viterbo.  He hit a three-run homer in the first inning and added a solo bomb to lead off the fourth.  Benz came to plate with the base loaded in the fifth inning and drilled a two-run double off the centerfield wall.  He wrapped up his week with another three-run blast in game two against Viterbo.  Benz has helped the Patriots extend their winning streak to 15 games and helping UC score at least ten runs in each of the last seven games.
