Weston Melvin earned athlete of the week honors after capturing a conference title.  Melvin recorded a 2-0 record with a pair of ranked wins.  He opened the conference tournament with an 8-1 decision over #21 Anthony Pyron of Cumberland.  Melvin tallied a takedown in both the first and third periods as he reached the finals.  In the championship match of the 174 lbs. division, Melvin squared off with #6 Shadrick Sloane.  The senior took a 1-0 lead in the second period.  After the match was tied, Melvin notched a takedown with 10 seconds remaining in the match to earn the 4-1 decision and clinch the conference title.  His performance helped the Patriots capture their second straight MSC Tournament title.
