Bowling Green, KY – The UC Women's Golf earned a top five finish earlier this week in the Sydney Cox Invitational, one of the toughest fields of teams the Patriots have faced all season. The Patriots had a solid showing earning a fourth place finish in the tournament with one Patriot leading the way tremendously. For her efforts, she was awarded this week by the Mid-South Conference.

Patriot junior Carlee Shoemaker was named the MSC Women's Golfer of the Week award, conference officials announced on Monday. It is the first weekly honor of the season for Shoemaker and the third of her career.

Setting the pace for the Patriots, Shoemaker would drop three birdies in the first round with her two-over 74 (+2). She added one additional birdie in the second round before sinking 13 straight pars to fire an even par 72 (E) to finish the two-round event at two-over par 146 (+2) to tie for fifth place overall out of 70 participants. It is the third All-Tournament team that she has made this season.

The ladies returned to action on Sunday, October 20^th and will continue through Tuesday, October 22^nd as they compete in the Roadrunner Invitational, hosted by Dalton State College.
