Allendale, MI – Cumberlands men's track & field team opened up their 2019-2020 campaign on Saturday in Michigan, taking on the Grand Valley State Holiday Open.
Nicolas Grandperrin, the solo man in the 3,000 meters, was the only Patriot to find the podium of the day, placing eighth. The senior runner, who recently raced at the NAIA Cross Country Championships, clocked 9:04.85 across the finish line.
In the 5,000 meters,
Jarrett Forrest, coming off a trip to the NAIA Cross Country as well, led three Cumberlands runners into the finish. the freshman clocked 15:48.74 in the race, followed up by
Kyle Woodward at 16:08.70 and
Michael Schonter at 16:50.95.
The Patriots continue racing next weekend on December 14 in Fort Wayne, IN at the Indiana Tech Invitational. More information on the meet can be found
