Williamsburg, KY – After yet another successful fall season on the course, the sixth-ranked Patriots ladies look for continued success into the spring. In the fall the team garnered three first place wins, finished second at the MSC fall tournament, and fifth at the Dalton State tournament which included 12 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes, including seven of the top ten teams.
 
Their tough schedule continues into the spring as they are competing at several tournaments that include the top 25 teams in the NAIA, also they will compete against some mid-major Division I teams. When talking to Coach Riggs about the spring schedule he said, "In my opinion we play one of the best schedules in the country with who we play and where we play so we are excited about it."
 
Returning to the course for UC is Hannah Griffith, Brianna Baird, Lucia Pena, Carlee Shoemaker and Linda Huang. Griffith had an impressive fall, averaging 74.53 strokes per round and recording two individual victories at the Bill Sergent Invite and Georgetown College Invite. Baird notched her first collegiate win at the Thomas University Invitational, on the season she is averaging 74.8 strokes per round. Shoemaker and Pena have combined for three top-five finishes and are averaging 76.1 and 77.2 per round, respectfully.
 
The Patriot ladies are looking for their eighth MSC Championship in a row. When asked about the MSC Championship Riggs said, "We try not to view it as defending, each championship you win is a different team, different challenge, and different experience. We have a goal of working hard each day, improving from event to event and trying to grow as players and stick to our process of getting better. If we do that and win, that's awesome if we do that and lose, it's still awesome because we are getting better."
 
The Patriots will return to the course on Thursday, March 14, when they compete in the Spring Break Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Opelika, AL.
