Napoli, Italy – While representing the United States at the World University Championships, UC Archer
Josh Isenhoff recorded a qualifying score of 699 to place 11
th in the men's compound event Tuesday afternoon.
Isenhoff started qualification by shooting a 350 during the first half of qualifying to be in sixth place overall. The Gracey, KY native followed that up by shooting a 349 over the second half of qualifying to finish tied with Rajat Chauhan with 699 apiece. Isenhoff hit 51 10's and 24 "X" during qualifying.
With the 11
th-seed, Isenhoff receives a first-round bye in the head-to-head competition and will face the winner of 43
rd-seed Ansar Yagudiyev of Kazakhstan and 22
nd-seed Hsiang-Hsuan Chen of Chinese Taipei in the 1/16 round.
After qualifying as the top compound male archer, Isenhoff and teammate Dahlia Klimitchek are also seeded 12
th in the mixed team event and will face 21
st-seed Japan in the opening round.
The duo of Isenhoff and Denver Gross of Union have qualified sixth in the men's compound team round after Gross finished 21
st with a qualifying score of 693. They will face 11
th-seed Anton Balaev and Asim Pavlov of Russia in the first round of the men's compound bracket.
