Williamsburg, KY – Three days after capturing the MSC outdoor conference title a pair of Patriots archers have been named the Mid-South Conference Archers of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday.
Chase White was named the MSC Men's Archer of the Week, while
Hannah Summers captured MSC Women's Archer of the Week accolades.
White posted seven first place finishes to capture Archer of the Week honors. White opened the week carding a 598 to earn the top-seed in the men's barebow qualification. In addition to the top-seed, the freshman also broke the school record, that was set in 2023, by six points. White followed that up going 3-0 and outscoring his opponents 18-2 to earn gold in USA Outdoor Regionals. The Warrensburg, IL native followed that up posting a 3-0 record to win the men's barebow division at the MSC Outdoor Championships. In addition to his individual success, White earned a pair of gold medals in both the men's barebow team rounds as well as the mixed barebow team divisions.
Summers was named the MSC Archer of the Week with seven top-four finishes. The sophomore began the week tallying a 683 to earn the top-seed in the women's fixed pins class during qualification. Summers followed that up by posting a 4-0 record to win gold in the women's fixed pins class at the MSC championship. The Ladoga, IN native followed that up earning a pair of gold medals as part of UC's women's fixed pins team rounds. Summers also notched a pair of runner-up finishes during mixed fixed pins team rounds. Her performance led to her being named the Co-MSC Archer of the Year.
The Patriots now set their sights on USA Outdoor Nationals in Lansing, MI.
