Bowling Green, KY – After breaking the Patriots school record, bowhunter Elliott Cross has been named the Mid-South Conference Male Shooter of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday. This marks the second time this season that Cross has earned this honor.

At the USA Archery 3D National Championship, Cross opened shooting a 218 to be in second place after the first round.  The sophomore followed that up tallying a 212 in the second round for a career-best score of 430.  Cross hit 17 bonus rings en route to breaking Caleb Dixon's school record set back in 2018 and earning the first individual national championship.

In addition to his individual success, the Monticello, KY native teamed with Sara Sherman in the mixed bowhunter division.  The duo combined to shoot an 852 to earn gold and win the event by 22 points over second place.

Cross capped off the championship with a silver medal in the men's team bowhunter event.  Cross along with Hunter Larese, and Josh Isaacs notched a 1254 for the runner-up finish.

Cross's performance was instrumental in the Patriots capturing their third straight USA 3D national championship and the tenth championship in program history.

The Patriots will return to action in January as they turn their attention to indoor season.
