Two Patriots Earned All-Conference Honors

Bowling Green, KY – UC Volleyball was able to put two players on the 2021 MSC All-Conference list, as conference officials announced on Wednesday morning. Lily Chapman earned a spot on the First Team, while Juliet Banks garnered an All-Conference honorable mention bid.

Chapman a junior from Iron Station, NC is not new to the list. In 2018, she won second team honors. Last year, Chapman won first team honors. After another great year, Chapman earned First-Team honors again.  This season Chapman tallied 366 kills as she surpassed the 1000 career kills mark and moved into the 4th spot in in career kills in Patriot's history, with 1231 kills. The 366 kills in puts her at fifth most in the conference. Chapman tallied a team-high of 12 double-doubles. For the season she averaged 3.73 kills per set which is fourth in the conference, along with a .218 attacking percentage. She also added 19 assists and 19 service aces. Along with her offensive numbers, Chapman got it done on defense as well tallying 269 digs, while averaging 2.74 digs per set. Then at the net, she came away with 36 blocks. During the season Chapman got her first career MSC Attacker of the Week honor.

Banks a true freshman from Scottsburg, IN, sees her name on the All-Conference Honorable Mention list after a stellar season. Banks was the digs and service ace leader for the Patriots. She racked up 500 digs for the season, while averaging 4.85 digs per set. The 500 digs places her in fourth in the conference, while the 4.85 digs per set mark put her at fifth in the conference. On the offensive side, Banks tallied 41 aces, along with 82 assists.  During the season Banks garnered back-to-back MSC Defender of the week honors.

UC starts their conference championships on Thursday November 11 as the 6th seed, as they are set to take on Freed-Hardeman at 12:30 CT & 1:30 ET in Bowling Green, KY.
