Williamsburg, KY- UC Volleyball is gearing up for their post season run. Coming off a 19-10 season, the Patriots are sitting in 6^th place in the conference.

This season Cumberlands was led offensively by Junior Lily Chapman. Chapman tallied 366 kills on the season. She surpassed the 1000 kill mark and moved into 4^th in career kills with 1231 kills. Chapman came away with 12 double-doubles and balanced her offensive numbers, with 269 digs and 36 blocks. She also earned MSC Attacker of the Week honors once. Freshman Anna Blumeier also added consistent offense for the Patriots tallying 244 kills, while averaging 2.44 kills per set. She also came away with four double doubles as she added 248 digs.

The assist leaders of the team are sophomores Savanah Schwarz and Lexi Lester. Schwarz tallied 510 assists, and averaged 5.48 per set, while Lester tallied 440 assists, and averaged 4.27 assists per set. Lester also came away with six double-doubles as she added 220 digs, and Schwarz notched two, tallying 147 digs.

On the defensive side freshman Juliet Banks led the team in digs notching 500 on the season and averaged 4.85 digs per set. Banks also led the team in service aces with 41. While sophomores Emily Prewitt and Danielle Jackson protected the net with a combined 142 blocks. Prewitt led the way with 73 blocks and Jackson was right behind her with 69 blocks. Prewitt offensively spark added to the UC offense as she came away with 133 kills and a team-high .313 attacking percentage. Jackson also added 97 kills with 21 service aces.

Looking back at the season, the Patriots came away with 11 sweeps, as they went on three key win streaks to put them in a good spot heading into the postseason. The first six match win streak seen five sweeps over Fisk, Milligan, Asbury, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Freed-Hardeman, as well as a 3-2 win over Keiser. The second six match win streak came against four Mid-South teams: Georgetown, Pikeville, Bethel, and Shawnee. As well as two sweeps over St. Andrews and Union. The last win streak lasted five matches. Where UC beat Campbellsville who was Receiving Votes, Pikeville, Georgetown, Montreat, and Shawnee State. The Patriots came away with 11 sweeps

The Mid-South Conference tournament will be held in Bowling Green, KY on November 11-13 at the Ephram White Gymnasium & Bowling Green High School. The Patriots will take on 11^th seeded Freed-Hardeman at 12:30 CT (1:30 ET). The winner of that match will take on Thomas More at 5:30 CT (6:30 ET).
