Kansas City, MO – In their first season competing as a NAIA championship sport, the UC dance team as laid a strong foundation to build on moving forward. On Sunday, that foundation grew stronger as
Natalie Rector became program history as she was named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention.
This is another accomplishment for Rector, who has already tallied an impressive freshman campaign. The dual-sport athlete was the MSC Dancer of the Year and was a MSC First Team All-Conference selection.
"I'm so proud of Natalie for earning this accomplishment," said Head Coach
RJ Conroy. "To earn this honor as a freshman is amazing and it is a sign for things to come in the future."
For Rector, this is her second NAIA All-American honorable mention accolade as she also earned this honor in cheerleading.
Cumberlands competed in six competitions this season and averaged a score of 66.67 per event. UC had their best performance at the MSC Championships, where they scored an 85.17 to capture their first MSC title in program history. The Patriots also placed third at the NAIA Mideast Regionals.
