Bowling Green, KY - For the second year in a row, an impressive eight women's golfers were named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic team, the league office announced on Tuesday. The Patriots eight nominees is the most of any Mid-South Conference school. 
 
For Cumberlands, Viviane Braun, Jordan Comer, Yu-Chien Huang, Morgan Owens-Lewis, Lucia Pena, Savannah Prigmore, Carlee Shoemaker, and Kaley Wells all earned academic honors. 
 
For Pena and Shoemaker, it's the third time that the golfers have earned the distinction. For Braun, Huang, Prigmore, and Wells, it's the second time during their Patriots career that they've received the recognition. In-order to receive the award, the student-athlete must be of sophomore status and maintain a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.  
 
In addition to securing academic all-conference, Braun was named the Champion of Character for the Patriots. Braun received the award for her demonstration of leadership at Cumberlands and in the Williamsburg community. 
 
Two weeks ago, Cumberlands took home first-place at the MSC Spring Classic. As a team, the Patriots notched a two-round score of 607 (+31) to capture the tournament title. Additionally, Shoemaker won her fourth consecutive tournament as she earned medalist honors after posting a 36-hole score of 144 (E). 
 
The Patriots will begin the MSC Tournament on Wednesday, May 5 in Bowling Green, KY.
