Patriots Finish Sixth in First Tournament of the Year

Bowling Green, KY – The Patriots improved on their day one performance finishing sixth at the Bowling Green Baker Shootout on Sunday. After knocking down 3246 pins on Saturday, Cumberlands hit 3707 on Sunday to finish with a total of 6953 pins.

The final 20 baker-style games proved much better for UC on Sunday as they knocked down over 450 more pins than they did the previous day. The Patriots averaged 185.35 pins per game with a high of 237 in the 38th game of the weekend, this was the second highest single game score for any team on day two. UC's 3707 pins were the second most pins hit on day behind UT Southern's 3915.
 
Cumberlands came into the day in ninth place and their performance allowed a three-place jump up the leaderboards, the biggest of any team from Saturday to Sunday. The University of Tennessee Southern finished first with 7594 pins knocked down on the weekend. Campbellsville and Pikeville rounded out the top three with 7188 and 7098 pins respectively.
 
The Patriots men's bowling team will compete in the same Bowling Green Baker tournament next weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of October. The women's team will be back in action on Oct 16th and 17th for the Columbia 300 Shootout in Indianapolis, IN.
