Williamsburg, KY – With just three days until their fall opener, the Patriot Golf teams look ahead to start their 2021-2022 season. With Head Coach
Aaron Watkins entering his third year at the helm of the Cumberlands men's and women's golf programs, the teams look to continue to be successful on the courses and continue to raise the bar for the golf program. This week, UC released their fall schedules and the teams will share the course for four of their five fall competitions.
Both teams open play this fall on September 10-11 in Yorktown, IN as they compete in the Players Club Invitational. This is UC's first time participating in this tournament. The women will look to build upon last fall, where they won three of the four torunaments they competed in, while the men will look to continue to climb the ladder to reach a top-25 ranking. On September 27 and 28, the teams will travel down to Johnson City, TN to compete in the East Tennessee Collegiate tournament held by Milligan College. The men will look to claim the title after a second place finish last year, while the women will look to hold onto their title from last year.
October will see the two teams competing in three tournaments each. The first tournament will take place in Georgetown, KY on October 11
and 12, when the teams are set to compete in the Georgetown College Fall Invitational. This is the first time since the fall of 2018 that the two teams will be competing in this tournament. A week later, you can catch the Patriots traveling to Shepherdsville, KY to compete in the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate, hosted by Lawrence Tech University. The men will look to have a strong outing after a fourth place finish last year, while the women will look to defend their title that they captured this past March.
On October 25 and 26 the women's golf team is set to compete in the MSC Fall Invite in Bowling Green, KY. UC women's golf is looking to 3-peat after winning the MSC Fall Invite in both the fall of 2019 and 2020. They also captured the MSC Tournament Championship in the spring of 2021 and are looking to build off of that for the 2021-2022 season.
A week later on November 1 and 2, the men's team is set to compete in the MSC Fall Invite in Bowling Green, KY as well. The men will look to claim their first MSC Fall Invite title since 2016.
