Williamsburg, KY- Competing in their second season as an NAIA Championship sport, the UC dance team tallied the two highest scores in program history across two rounds at the Patriot Spirit Invite. Cumberlands swept both rounds of competition on Friday to open the season undefeated.

The Patriots opened the night with a round one score of 86.5 to notch their first win of the night. UC scored three points ahead of Montreat, who finished in second, and eight points in front of Campbellsville, who finished in third.

"I'm really proud of how our team opened the season," said Head Coach RJ Conroy. "They established themselves as the conference favorite tonight by going undefeated through both rounds. They also tallied the two highest scores ever in program history."

The highest score of the night came during round two. Cumberlands came out with more energy during their second performance and tallied a final round score of 88.67. The performance was near flawless, only picking up a 0.5 point deduction. Montreat finished in second place, six points behind the Patriots, and Campbellsville finished in third.

Both scores are two of the highest scores in program history. This is also the first time Cumberlands has started the season undefeated.

The Patriots return to the floor on Thursday, February 3 in St. Louis, MO when they are set to compete at Missouri Baptist University.
