Williamsburg, KY – UC's Esports team has been in action over the last couple weeks, playing out their NACE seasons in Rocket League, Rainbow 6, and Valorant.
 
Rocket League
The Patriots have played two matches in the month of October to round out their NACE season. Cumberlands lost a heartbreaker in their first match of the month to Lindenwood. In their best-of-five series they won games three and four to push the series to the final game. In game three they scored 6 goals, the most of the year for UC. In game five the score was 0-0 after regulation sending it into a golden goal scenario. Lindenwood found the goal to take game five and the series from UC.
 
In the second game of the night, the Pats would fall to New Haven in three games. They battled to keep it close, losing 2-1 in both game two and game three. Jackson Moore (Oqya) continued to be the leader for this squad. Jonathan Jackson (AlwysRety) played in the majority of the games this season too, helping his teammates with the offensive attack. James Dosado (Killer_JJD) and Daniel Arp (TheGamingChairs) rotated in that third spot for most of the year.
 
Rainbow 6
The R6 squad picked up their first win of the season on the 6^th of October against Old Dominion University, They swept the Monarchs 2-0 to get a win on the board. In the first match Cole Hannon (Slaxk) picked up 16 eliminations with only two deaths, leading his team to a 7-3 win. Hannon continued to dominate in the second game going 11-5 beside teammate Jon Cox (Spxdes) who had the most elims with 12. The Patriots took the game 7-2 to win the best-of-three matchup.
 
Valorant
The Valorant squad at UC has competed three times in October and are still looking to get over the hump for their first win. After playing some difficult competition in the University of Maryland, St. Edwards University, and Drury University, UC will face off against Butler next Wednesday for their final competition of the month.
 
Coach Ball is optimistic about the rest of the season saying "We are facing tough competition each week in all games, but our cohesion as a team is improving rapidly because of it."
