WILLIAMSBURG, KY – The Cumberlands Esports teams opened their spring schedule with a trio of wins across multiple titles, highlighted by victories in Rocket League and dominant individual performances in both Super Smash Bros. and Overwatch competition.
 
Super Smash Bros.
The Patriots' Smash Bros. team battled Transylvania in NECC action, with Andy Sears and Gavin King leading the way across the three-game series. Sears and King each secured 11 total stocks over the matchup, delivering clutch performances in a tightly contested set to give UC the 2-1 series win.
 
Overwatch
Cumberlands' MSC Overwatch team turned in a dominant showing in a 3-0 win over Freed-Hardeman, powered by an outstanding performance from Ryan Hillard. Playing tank heroes Reinhardt, Ramattra, and Wrecking Ball, Hillard finished the three-game series with an eye-catching 82 eliminations while suffering just three deaths, anchoring the Patriots on both sides of the map.
 
Rocket League
UC's NECC Rocket League squad picked up a win over Kennesaw State on Tuesday night via forfeit. With the result, the Patriots begin NECC play with a victory as they continue building momentum early in the spring season.
