Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots Rainbow 6 Siege team played in the NACE Playoffs throughout the past week. They had a tough test against No. 2 ranked St. Claire College, and came away with a huge win after taking the series 2-0.
 
In the first map, Cole Hannon led the team in eliminations with 16 in total. Freshman Cody Lawson took over as the shot caller during this map, which proved to be a good move as they took the map 7-5. The second map was tied up at 7-7, forcing a final overtime round. UC clutched up and took the final round to win the map, and the best-of-three match over #2 St. Claire.
 
Coach Jacob Ball was very proud of his squad's performance saying "We practiced strategies as a team with Cody calling the shots and worked on our communication every day this week and it paid off. Everyone showed up to play and we were able to grab the momentum early."
 
Cumberlands advanced to the quarterfinals with this win to take on the University of Southern Mississippi the next night. In this match the Patriots fell 0-2, finishing their NACE Playoff run as a top-8 finisher.
 
The Rainbow 6 season will conclude for the fall semester, but UC will begin MSC play next week in multiple titles that include Rocket League, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros, and Overwatch 2.
