Bowling Green, Ky – For the third straight season, the UC men's soccer team leads the Mid-South Conference for most All-Conference honorees. The Patriots tie Tennessee Southern with seven each. For the first time since 2018, the Patriots placed four First Team All-Mid-South Conference. Cumberlands also garnered three on Second Team, giving UC seven of the total 43 athletes to earn the honor.

Pablo Vazquez made history for UC, becoming the first Freshman to be named MSC Player of the Year. The goalkeeper becomes just the third player in program history and the first under Head Coach Chris LeFevre to take home the title, joining Shawn Picou (2006) and Erasto Neptune (2002). Vazquez also took home First Team All-Conference honors from his to level performances all season. The Sevilla, Spain native only let in nine goals all season, holding a .63 goals against average for the 15^th best in the NAIA. Vazquez had an impressive 33 saves on the year, with five shutouts.

The leading goalscorer for UC all season has been Stephen Appiah, earning him First Team All-Conference for the first time in his career. So far this year, Appiah has netted 10 goals, tying him for fourth most in the MSC. The sophomore has also assisted on four goals to lead CU with 24 points.

Moving up to First Team All-Conference from Second Team last year is Rodrigo Riveros. He is second on the team in goals with seven. He has also dished out two assists to give him 16 points on the season. Riveros' seven goals for the 2022 campaign ranks him 14^th in the MSC and his 22 shots on goal is ninth best in the conference.

Rounding out the First Team honors for UC is Tommaso Ogliari, earning his highest MSC honor of is career. After being named Honorable Mention last season, Ogliari ahs stepped up in a big way for Cumberlands in 2022. He came into the season, having never scored as a Patriot and has two so far this season. The Crema, Italy native has also upped his assists, tallying four, tying him for third on the team.

Keeping the trend of improving from last season, Storm Hollensted was awarded MSC Honorable Mention in 2021, but this season moved up to Second Team All-MSC. He is one of just four players to play and start in every match so far this season for the Pats. Hollensted is tied for third most goals on the team with three and tied for third in assists with three.

Another impressive freshman for Cumberlands has been Bruno Garcia, manning the backline all season, earning him on Second Team. Garcia has helped lead one of the best defenses in the MSC. Opposing teams have been held to just 11 goals all season for a .65 goals against average. Garcia has also helped limit teams to just 142 total shots, just 8.4 shots per game.

In his second season with the Pats, Shuma Sasaki garners Second Team All-MSC honors. Sasaki has been a key factor in UC's potent offense contributing both as a goal scorer and in assists. He is tied for the most assists on the team with five, ranking him 15^th in MSC. Sasaki has also tallied a trio of goals, tying Hollensted for third most.

Cumberlands continues their postseason run on Wednesday, November 9^th for the MSC semifinals. The team will take on Bethel at 6:30PM at Tennessee Southern with a chance to make the MSC Finals for the third straight season.
