Bowling Green, KY – Sujel Arias get his first Mid-South Player of the Week honor in his first weekend as a Patriot.

The San Cristobal, DR native is a transfer for Miami Dade. Over the weekend, he started all four games, helping UC to a 3-1 record on the weekend, as the face Midway and Mobile twice. Arias finished the outing with a .500 batting average with six hits. As well as three RBI's and two doubles. He also had a .667 slugging percentage and a .600 on base percentage.

In the season opener, he notched a singled, got walked and scored twice against Mobile. Then got a double against Midway, in the second game.

On the second day, he went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs against Midway. Then added a single and one RBI in the second game against Mobile.

Head Coach Brad Shelton said, "Sujel and several of our guys had great weekends offensively. He really put together several tough at bats each game".

Cumberlands will host Cincinnati-Clermont on Tuesday Feb 9 for a double-header starting at 2 PM. This will be their home opener. For Live Video. For Live Stats (XML).
