Caden Petrey has once again been recognized among the nation's top student-athletes, earning a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Baseball Team®, as announced by CSC officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Petrey garnered CSC First Team Academic All-America® honors for the second consecutive season and becomes a three-time CSC Academic All-American® after earning Second Team recognition earlier in his career. The Williamsburg, Kentucky native was also named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and MSC Academic All-Conference selection for the third time in his career.
The 12 members of the CSC NAIA Academic All-America® First Team combined for an impressive 3.80 cumulative grade-point average.
On the field, Petrey continued to establish himself as one of the premier players in the NAIA during the 2026 campaign. The senior hit .349 with 19 home runs, 15 doubles, three triples, and 72 RBI while scoring 70 runs and posting a .438 on-base percentage. He also added 10 stolen bases and recorded a .970 fielding percentage with 44 putouts and 115 assists.
For his efforts, Petrey earned NAIA First Team All-America honors while also collecting MSC First Team All-Conference and MSC Gold Glove accolades. Additionally, he was named MSC Player of the Week during the season.
Petrey leaves Williamsburg as one of the most accomplished players in program history. Across 233 career games (second in program history), he batted .340 with 268 hits, 76 home runs, 55 doubles, eight triples, 264 RBI, and 257 runs scored while helping lead the Patriots to four consecutive successful seasons. His 76 career home runs rank second in program history, while his combination of academic and athletic success has made him one of the premier student-athletes in the NAIA.
