Williamsburg, KY – University of the Cumberlands Baseball pitcher Jackson Mayo has officially signed a professional contract with the State College Spikes of the MLB Draft League, earning the opportunity to continue his baseball career at the professional level following his season with the Patriots.

The State College Spikes are based in State College, Pennsylvania, and compete in the MLB Draft League. The league serves as a premier destination for top amateur and professional talent, providing players with an opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of Major League Baseball organizations.

Mayo made an immediate impact during his lone season in Williamsburg, providing valuable depth to the Patriots' pitching staff. Appearing in 12 games with five starts, the left-hander compiled a 2-1 record while logging 21.1 innings. He struck out 26 batters and recorded a 5.06 ERA, helping Cumberlands finish the season with a 48-10 overall record.

Throughout the season, Mayo showcased the ability to contribute in a variety of roles, making appearances as both a starter and reliever while providing quality innings during the Patriots' run through the Mid-South Conference schedule.

With Mayo's signing, three members of the 2026 Patriots squad have now signed professional contracts. He joins Wesley Culley (New York Boulders) and Derick Andiarena (Schaumburg Boomers) in advancing to the professional ranks.
