Gulf Shores, AL- The UC Women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Carey Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon. Through 54 holes at the tournament, the Patriots tallied a combined team score of 992 (+128), which was just a few strokes behind fifth place.

Leading the way for Cumberlands throughout the Carey Collegiate was Maria Neira. During her third round of the tournament, she carded an 85 (+13). The freshman started the day on hole three, where she recorded three back-to-back pars to start the day. Over the course of 54 holes, the Caracas, Venezuela native tallied 29 pars and two birdies to help her earn a share of 23^rd on the individual leaderboard.

Senior Viviane Braun ended the tournament with her best score across three rounds. During her final round of 18 holes, the Wegberg, Germany native tallied a 79 (+7) to give her a share of 27^th overall at the Carey Collegiate. During her final round, Braun carded a team best seven pars and three birdies.

Emily Allen finished in 34^th on the individual leaderboard after recording an 82 (+10) during her third round of the tournament. The freshman started the day by tallying three pars on her first four holes. She then carded her lone birdie of the day on hole nine, where she only needed four strokes to reach the pin. Allen was just five strokes away from finishing within the top-30 of the Carey Collegiate.

Elena Hortian finished the Carey Collegiate tied for 36^th on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore carded a 54 hole score of 259 (+43), after tallying 22 pars and one birdie across the two days. Her lone birdie came during her final round of 18 holes where she only needed four strokes to reach the pin on the 499 yard par five.

The Patriots have two weeks off before they are set to compete in the Spring Conference Tournament on April 11 and 12 in Crossville, TN.
