Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced 14 Patriots Baseball players were named to the Academic All-Conference list on Wednesday Morning. Garrett DeClue was named the Champion of Character winner for UC.

Representing Cumberlands on the academic list for the third year in a row is Chuck Bronson, and for the second year in a row is Skyler Sutton. UC has 12 first time names on the list, Raphy Almanzar, Sujel Arias, Sean Cheely, Braxton Cottongame, Jaden Franklin, Shane Jones, Jake Kmiecik, Chipper Korbacher, Corey Linz, Clay Shelton, Jared Shelton, and Carter Sullivan.

Cumberland (Tenn.) led the MSC with 27 honorees, while Georgetown had the second-most with 23 and Freed-Hardeman was third with 21.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
