Bowling Green, KY – The University of the Cumberlands had one of its most successful seasons in school history with 23 teams advancing to nationals and nine Mid-South Conference regular season or tournament titles.  The Patriots cap off this stellar season by capturing the 2021-22 Mid-South Conference President's Cup, the conference office announced Friday.

"Winning the MSC President's Cup is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff," said President Larry L. Cockrum. "This achievement perfectly embodies the "One Big Team" culture that all of our coaches and athletes have bought into over the last several years. While I am proud of our success on the field and in the courts, I am even more proud of the accomplishments in the classroom."

Not only did the Patriots capture their first President's Cup since the 2008-09 school year, UC also garnered both the Men's and Women's All-Sports Trophies.  Cumberlands recorded 64.5 points from their men's sports and 65 points on the women's side to total 129.5 points, two points ahead of the next closest school.  It is the Patriots ninth President's Cup in school history, which is the second most in the Mid-South Conference.

"One of our main goals has been to achieve comprehensive success across the entire department," said Athletic Director Chris Kraftick.  "I'm so proud of all our of teams, coaches, and student-athletes for not only competing at the highest level, but also excelling in the classroom and being leaders throughout the campus."

UC captured six Mid-South Conference championships, which tied Life for the most in the Mid-South Conference.  It is the second consecutive season that the Patriots have taken home the Women's All-Sport Trophy.  

This season, women's cross country, women's swimming & diving, and women's lacrosse all garnered ten points towards the women's All-Sport Trophy.  The Patriots also garnered runner-up finishes in both indoor and outdoor track & field as well as women's tennis, while women's golf and softball tallied eight points to round out the scoring.  Cumberlands finished with 65 points on the women's side to win the trophy by 1.5 points. 

On the men's side, Cumberlands edged out Lindsey Wilson by a half point to capture their second All-Sport Trophy in the past three years.  Men's swimming & diving along with men's wrestling both earned ten points for their respective conference championship.  Archery captured their fourth straight conference title for ten points which are counted on the men's side.  Runner-up finishes from baseball and tennis earned nine points apiece, while men's soccer tallied 8.5 points after finishing tied with Cumberland for second place.  Men's bowling and men's indoor track & field notched third place finishes.

Lindsey Wilson placed second in the overall standings with 127.5 points, while Campbellsville, Cumberland, and Life all finished with over 100 points.
