Williamsburg, KY – After an impressive week, Laura Bosca and Pepe Vidal have been named the Appalachian Wireless Athletes of the Week, the athletic department announced Monday. 
 
Laura Bosca earned Athlete of the Week honors after helping UC to a 2-0 victory over #12 Lindsey Wilson.  Bosca notched a goal and an assist in the match, while playing all 90 minutes.  In the 11', the senior finished off a cross from Carmen Villa, which was assisted by Letizia Traversone for her fourth goal of the season.  It marked her third straight match with a goal and gave UC the 1-0 lead.  Ten minutes later, Bosca forced a turnover, ran a give-and-go with Nicole Araujo before sending the ball to the wing for Traversone for a goal extending the lead to 2-0.  With the win, Cumberlands moved to 2-0 in MSC play this season.
 
Pepe Vidal earned Athlete of the Week honors after posting a runner-up finish at the Carolina  Cup.  Vidal carded a six-under-par, 138, over the 36 hole course.  The junior opened the tournament recording a 67 (-5) in the first round. He birdied his first hole of the day and added three more birdies in his first nine holes to be -3 at the turn.  Vidal followed that up birding three of his final five holes to close out the day.  In the second, Vidal sank five birdies to close out the day with a 71 (-1).
