Williamsburg, KY – After helping their team's get off to strong starts on the season, setter Savanah Jolly and receiver Cade Lamb have been selected as the September Athletes of the Month presented by Pepsi Corbin, the athletic department announced Friday. The University of the Cumberlands Athletic Department in conjunction with their corporate partner, Pepsi Corbin, are presenting the "The Pepsi Corbin Athletes of the Month", which will be awarded to the top two student-athletes each month.
 
Savanah Jolly earned athlete of the month honors after an incredible month.  Jolly has facilitated the Patriots offense tallying 758 assists, 10.24 a/s to go along with 204 digs, 36 kills and 22 aces.  The Louisville, KY opened the season with 38 assists in UC's 3-0 sweep over Mount Vernon Nazarene and closed out the Keiser Invite with 118 assists, while she added a career-high 26 digs against Southeastern.  Jolly continued her strong season at the IU Kokomo Invite, where she notched 183 assists, seven kills, and 45 digs helping the Patriots to a 4-0 mark on the weekend.  Jolly tallied at least 30 assists in ten of UC's next 11 matches, including 43 assists in the win over Northwestern Ohio.  Jolly leads the MSC and is ranked ninth in the NAIA in assists per set. 
 
Cade Lamb earned athlete of the month honors after leading the Patriots receiving core.  Lamb has made 17 catches for 343 yards, averaging 20.18 yards per catch, along with four touchdowns.  The senior also added five rushes for 26 yards and a score.  Lamb had a breakout game against Bluefield, where he totaled three touchdowns, including a 55-yard score in the first quarter.  He added a rushing touchdown before half and added a 50-yard touchdown early in the third quarter to give UC a 36-20 lead. The Springboro, OH native added a career-high 135 yards on five catches against Warner, including a 41-yard touchdown strike in the first quarter.  Lamb adder seven catches for 83 yards over UC's final two games helping the Patriots to a 4-1 mark to open the season.
