Bowling Green, KY – Closing out the season a pair of Patriot players earned Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference accolades for their success throughout the season.
Courtland Ellis and
Tony Jiang were the two Patriots that earned this distinction, which was announced by the conference office Monday.
This is another accolade for Ellis, who was Cumberlands first MSC All-Conference selection for his success in rocket league. Jiang was part of Cumberlands Super Smash Brothers team.
Overall the Patriots advanced to the Rocket League championship match of the MSC Fall Tournament with a 3-0 win over Shawnee State. This was the first year that the conference sponsored esports as a conference sport.
Across the conference, 27 student-athletes earned this honor. To be eligible each student-athlete must be sophomore status with at least a 3.25 GPA.
