The Patriots women's basketball team posted one of the most successful season in recent memory during the 2021-22 season culminating in Cumberlands advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the second straight year.  The Patriots finished the year 20-13, including a 13-9 mark in conference play.  The young core helped lead UC to several key wins and achievements throughout the season.

THE YEAR IN NUMBERS

For the first time in program history the Patriots knocked off a NAIA top-ranked opponent.  UC defeated Thomas More on Feb. 5.  Abbi Douglas had a career-high 26 points and seven rebounds, while Kaylie Monday tallied 22 points and five rebounds in the win.

The Patriots closed out the season ranked #24 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.  UC went 20-13 on the year, which was their first 20-win season since 2011-12.  Their 13 conference wins were the most since the 2013-14 season as well.

Kassie Monday becomes just the third Patriot player to be named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year.  Monday led the team averaging 15.8 points and 4.1 assists per game throughout the season and averaged 22.8 points per game over the final four games of the season.

Cumberlands had five players average at least 9.5 points per game on the season, led by Kassie Monday at 15.8 ppg, which ranked third in the MSC.  Abbi Douglas (12.7 ppg) and Destiny Haworth (12.2 ppg) both ranked in the top-15 of the MSC while Channing Lewis and Kaylie Monday averaged 10.4 and 9.9 points, respectively.

The Patriots went an impressive 15-2 on their home court, including eight straight wins during the middle of the season.  The Patriots opened conference play with a 100-95 win over Georgetown, marking the first time since January 2, 2014 that UC surpassed the century mark against an MSC opponent.

  UC had 13 different players record a career-high for points and rebounds in a game throughout the season.  Channing Lewis grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in the win over Freed-Hardeman.

  Cumberlands is ranked fifth in the NAIA converting 36.7% of their three-pointers on the season.  UC was led by Destiny Haworth, who drained 45.7% from behind-the-arc, which is the second best in program history and ranked tenth in the NAIA.
