NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll: Preseason
KANSAS CITY, MO – The first NAIA Coaches' Poll of the 2022 season was released this afternoon, and the Patriots find themselves in 10
th place accumulating 352 points.
Cumberlands finished the 2021 season with a 16-6-2 overall record after playing against 12 nationally ranked opponents. The Pats are coming off of consecutive trips to the NAIA Final Site.
UC is set to face 11 ranked opponents during the regular season, including matchups against #3 Central Methodist and the reigning national champions, #1 University of Tennessee Southern.
Last season, UC averaged 2.50 goals a game and held their opponents to an impressive 0.63 average, while setting a program record 15 shutouts.
The Patriots return seven starters, highlighted by two 2021 season standouts-
Jayden Boelter and
Laura Navajas Marin. Boelter who finished her outstanding season with an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention alongside Navajas earned First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American Honors.
From the Mid-South, Cumberlands is joined in the top-25 by #1 Tennessee Southern, #14 Lindsey Wilson, #16 Cumberland, and #23 Campbellsville.
The Patriots will face #19 Truett McConnell in their first game of the season, on August 18 in Cleveland, GA. The game will begin at 3PM with live video found
