NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll: 4
Kansas City, MO- For the fifth straight NAIA Coaches' Poll, the UC men's soccer team has climbed to a better ranking, this time coming in at #13, announced by the national office.
Cumberlands has been on a tear lately, riding a five-game win streak for an overall record of 5-2-1. Nationally the team ranks in the top-15 in corner kicks (10
th) with 61, their .50 goals against average (15
th), and four shutouts (14
th).
Stephen Appiah ranks 13
th in the NAIA and second in the MSC for goals with eight.
Pablo Vazquez has a save percentage of .895 for 15
th best in the NAIA and the top spot in the MSC. Both players are coming off their second MSC Player of the Week honors after their performances to open MSC play.
The Patriots have played against five teams mentioned in the latest poll with wins over three of the teams and their two losses being decided by just one goal. UC defeated the only other MSC team ranked in the NAIA in Bethel at #22.
UC is outscoring their opponents 15-4 and limiting the opposition to only 3.6 shots on goal per game. Their fifteen goals have had 16 assists for a balanced offense with nine different players having recorded a point already this season.
Cumberlands continues MSC play with their next game against Georgetown on Wednesday, September 28. The match is the MSC home opener for a kick-off of 7PM ET.
