th ranked Patriots got their second run-rule of the season, as they take down the Kentucky State Thorobreds 19-0. The Pats scored 10 in the first inning on their way to victory.
Tyler Shafer got his first start of the season and pitched 4.0 innings. He only allowed two hits and a walk while striking out seven not allowing a run.
Bryan Juarez came in relief to get the win, as he pitched 2.0 innings, only allowing one hit, no walks, no runs, and one strikeout.
Javier Martinez came in to close and pitched 1.0 innings. He struck out two batters with no walks or hits.
UC had a good day at the plate as four Patriots notched doubles and
Josiah Santiago notched his first home run as a Pat. Santiago went 2-3 with two RBIs and two walks.
Sujel Arias went 1-1 with his lone hit being a double. Both
Kevin Perez and
Caden Petrey also added doubles as well.
Raphy Almanzar also went 2-2 with two RBIs and a walk.
Almanzar opened the game with a single toward third base.
Charlie Muniz stepped to the plate and got walked. Arias followed with an RBI double down the left-field line to take a 1-0 lead.
Max Harper made it a 2-0 lead with a sacrifice fly.
Josh Simon got walked, and
Ryan Shavers got hit by a pitch to fill the bases.
Evan St Claire followed with a two-RBI single up the middle to go up 4-0. With two on base, Santiago got walked to reload the bases. A batter later, Almanzar notched a two-RBI double up the middle. After another hit by pitch reloaded the bases, the Patriots scored twice off of two straight walks. The Thorobreds brought in a new pitcher, and he walked his first batter. Simon then got an RBI single. Before an inning-ending groundout, the Pats got another score off a walk to make it 10-0.
In Cumberlands next at-bat, Santiago led off with his first home run as a Patriots. After an error and walk, Muniz notched a sac fly to extend the lead to 12-0. Two batters later Harper singled up the middle for an RBI.

Luis Alvarez led off with a double up the middle.
Ben Snapp followed with an RBI single through the right side to go up 14-0. Two batters later,
Clay Shelton singled toward third base. Next, Shavers got walked, and St Claire reached on an error that scored a run. With the bases loaded, Santiago got an RBI walk. Petrey then notched a two-RBIÂ double down the left field line to make it an 18-0 game.
Later in the bottom of the fifth, UC scored the game's final run. Snapp led off with a walk and Perez followed with a double down the left-field line. Frank Garica got an RBI off a sac fly to bring home

Cumberlands advances to 3-0 and will have a four-game series against Lawrence Tech this weekend starting at 1 pm on Saturday, February 18
th.
