Patriots Notched A Walkoff Win To Open The Series Against The Tigers

Williamsburg, KY- 11th ranked Cumberlands edges out a 4-3 win in extras against RV Georgetown. Ryan Shavers walked off the game in the 11th  with a leadoff first pitch bomb, as UC advances to 24-4 on the year.

In a pitches dual of a game, Hunter Rigsby got the start  and pitched 5.0 innings scattering six hits for three runs, while notching eight strikeouts. Knicko Billings came in relief and got the win after pitching 6.0 innings only allowing one hit, no runs, and four strikeouts. At the plate, Charlie Muniz led the way going 2-3 with a double, while Josh Simon also went 2-3. Shavers lone hit was the walk off homerun.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring one run in the first and third innings. The Pats answered with a run of their own in the fourth to cut the gap to one. Max Harper led off the at-bat with a single to left field. Evan St Claire laid down a sac bunt, to advance Harper to second. Next, Ben Snapp singled to left field to put runners on the corners. Then Simon notched an RBI single up the middle to make the score 2-1.

Georgetown added one more run in the fifth, and UC answered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 3-3. Caden Petrey led off the inning with a single to left center. Two batters later, Muniz doubled down the left field line and Petrey advanced to third. Kevin Perez came into courtesy run for Muniz, then a sacrifice fly from Sujel Arias scored Petrey.
