Three Wins and Four National Standards Highlight Men's Day

Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots competed in multiple events on Friday including the Bellarmine Open in Louisville, KY and the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, TN. UC recorded stellar performances at both meets, earning three event wins and four national standards.
 
Bellarmine Open
The Pats picked up their first win of the day in the 200m dash where Cam Andrews clocked an A standard time of 21.36 for first place. This was the third fastest time in the NAIA this year. Travion Dotson followed with a B cut 21.55 finish for second, and the seventh fastest time this year, while Eddie Van Wyk and Roderick Soto came in fifth and ninth with times of 21.90 and 22.21. Kerrington Eubanks rounded out the top-10 finishers with a 22.28 time, respectively.
 
The 4x400 squad took first place with a B standard time of 3:17.29. Jaysaun Smith and Andrews handled the first two legs before Donte Sol took over for the third leg. Sol then handed off the baton to Grayson Rahbany for the final two laps. UC also took second and fourth in the relay as well. The second-place squad featured Iloba Godspower, Eubanks, Nigel Steenwinkel, and Devonte Davis who combined for a 3:22.12 finish. Soto, Van Wyk, Kenny Wilburn, and Noah Kincade made up the fourth-place finishing relay with a 3:25.76.
 
Andrews was also the top Patriot finisher in the 60m dash, placing second overall in the finals with a 6.886. Smith, who earned the top seed in the prelims, finished third just behind Andrews with a time of 6.887. Sol was the third Patriot to make the finals, crossing the finish line in 6.91 for third while Van Wyk clocked a 6.97 for sixth overall.
 
Grayson Rahbany posted a top-three finish as one of two patriot competitors in the 400m. Rahbany finished his two laps in 49.48 for third while Noah Kincade earned 14th behind a 52.00 finish. The 800m featured one Patriot in the top-10 as Andrew Barker clocked a 1:59.02 finish.
 
A pair of top-five finishes highlighted UC's field competitors on Friday. Nigel Steenwinkel entered the pole vault and came away with fifth overall after clearing the bar at 4.05m. Jelle Golbach followed with a 3.65m clearance for eighth. Lucas Lambo also placed fifth on the day behind a 16.18m weight throw. Jack Lamey Jr. posted a 13.86m mark for 13th as well.
 
Vanderbilt Invitational
UC opened the Vandy Invite with the 5K where Youssef Asslouj dominated the field with a first place, 14:10 finish. This marks the fastest time in the NAIA this season. Noah McClellan clocked a 14:47.36 for sixth while Noah Loser ran a 14:52.79 for ninth. Serhii Shevchenko rounded out UC's competitors in the top-15 with a 14:59.27 13th place finish.
 
Hauke Trost also hit an NAIA A cut in Nashville with a 2:24.87 finish in the 1000m. This was also the fastest time in the NAIA so far this year. Victor Carpeggiani followed his teammate with a 2:29.75 for 11th while Max Young finished 2:33.17 for 19th.
 
The Pats will be back next weekend as they are set to attend the Brant Tolsma Invitational at Liberty University and the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville.
