Bowling Green, KY – On the heels on a top-10 win, Patriots goalie
Morgan White has been named the MSC Women's Soccer Defender of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. It marks the second time this season that the freshman has earned weekly honors.
In their lone match on the week, White tallied five saves in Cumberlands 1-0 win over #9 SCAD Savannah. The Louisville, KY native made a pair of saves in the first half as UC jumped out to an early lead. She followed that up with back-to-back saves in the 53' and 55'. White's final save came in the 73' to cut off a promising run by the Bees.
In addition to the saves, White made numerous defensive plays to end SCAD scoring threats. It marks White's seventh clean sheet of the season as she has posted a 0.71 GAA.
The Patriots return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 9, when they host (RV) Lindsey Wilson in an MSC showdown. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. at the UC Soccer Complex.
