Bowling Green, KY – After a strong performance during the USA 3D National Championships, Patriots archer
Lanie Nish has been named the MSC Women's Archer of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday. Nish scored points in four different events, including a trio of podium finishes on the week.
Nish opened nationals by earning a runner-up finish in the women's compound division. The sophomore utilized a 226 in the second round to close out qualification with a 438 to sit in third place. During the shoot-downs, Nish carded a pair of 12's along with a 10 to finish as the national runner-up. It marked her second consecutive national runner-up finish of her career.
The Indianapolis, IN native combined with
Blaine Kostrzewski to card an 876 in the mixed compound team. That score earned the duo a national runner-up finish.
Nish that teamed with
Sierra Sands and
Savannah Hoffman to go 3-0 and captured the women's compound team national title. The trio won all three matches by at least nine points, including a 98-78 win over Rio Grande in the gold medal match. Nish closed out nationals scoring points in the mixed equipment division, and was vital to the Pats earning second place as a team.
Cumberlands will now turn their attention towards indoor season. The MSC Indoor Championship is set for January 16-18 in Madisonville, KY.
