Madisonville, KY – The Cumberlands archery team tallied 11 podium finishes, including seven gold medals during team rounds to sit atop the team standings after two days of competition of the 2026 MSC Indoor Archery Championships at the West Kentucky Archery Complex. The Patriots have tallied 105 points and hold a 23 point lead heading into the final day.
The women's barebow team made a flawless run to finish atop the podium.
Isabell Lehsten,
Kennedy Sumpter, and
Lauren Oosterbaan carded at least 40 points in every end to record back-to-back 6-0 victories and capture the gold medal.
After earning the top-seed the UC women's recurve team won both their matches en route to capturing the gold medal. The trio of
Lidia Quezada,
Ceridwyn Salyers, and
Sheridan Weaver opened team rounds defeating Midway 5-1 to reach the finals. In the gold medal match the Patriots rallied from down 3-1 to win the third (55-49) and fourth (56-45) end to capture the gold medal.
In the women's compound team rounds,
Lanie Nish,
Savannah Hoffman, and
Marissa Harding outscored Union in each of the four ends to earn the 228-216 victory to capture gold.
The Patriots women's fixed pins team completed the gold medal sweep on the women's side as defeated Pikeville 234-230 in the semifinals. Cumberlands tallied a pair of 57's and 59's during the finals as
Ayla Mills,
Cammie Shuman, and
Hannah Summers captured the gold medal.
Cumberlands opened the men's fixed pins team scoring with a 237-207 win over Midway in the semifinals. The trio of
Jackson Ratajczak,
Joseph West, and
Aiden Woodie utilized a perfect end to open the gold medal match to earn the 234-232 victory over Pikeville.
UC notched a pair of gold medals and a runner-up finish during the mixed team rounds. Cumberlands captured gold in the mixed compound as
Landon Standish teamed with Nish for a perfect 2-0 record. The duo opened with a 156-150 win over Lindsey Wilson before taking down Union 157-155 in the finals.
In mixed barebow,
Chase White and Lehsten paired up to post a 2-0 record to capture the win. The duo opened with a 6-0 win over Campbellsville, before earning the 6-2 win over Lindsey Wilson in the finals.
Joseph West and Mills, who entered as the top-seed in mixed fixed pins defeated Union 159-147 to reach the finals. In the gold medal match UC had strong shots before falling in a one-arrow shoot-off.
The trio of
Chase White,
Zach Matthews and
Nicolas Mudd opened with a 6-2 win over Lindsey Wilson in the semifinals before claiming the silver medal in the men's barebow division. UC also notched a runner-up finish in the men's compound divisions.
UC opened the tournament with quality performances throughout qualification. In total the Patriots had 23 archers qualify in the top-five of their respective class and 36 post top-ten finishes. Lehsten, Mills, and Nish were the top qualifiers in their respective classes.
Lehsten carded a 489 to earn the top-seed in the women's barebow division. Sumper (465) and Oosterbaan (454) are seeded third and fifth.
Mills remained consistent throughout qualification opening with a 297 before coming back with a 298 to close out with a 595, hitting 55 ten's. Shuman was second with a 587, while Summers and Anslee Robeerson placed fourth and fifth after carding 582 and 579.
Cumberlands tallied the top-five qualifiers in the women's compound division with Nish leading the charge. The sophomore notched 44 ten's en route to a 584. Hoffman was second with a 576, while Harding was third at 575.
Lilie Aguilar (574) and
Claire Garrison (572) rounded out the top-five seeds.
UC also had a trio of top five qualifiers in the men's compound and men's fixed pins divisions.
Cumberlands returns to the range Sunday, January 18
th, for the final day of the MSC Indoor Championships. It will begin at 9 a.m. with the individual head-to-head matches.
