Elkhart, IN – The Cumberlands women's swimming team had a strong day highlighted by a trio of All-American performances to sit in fourth place midway through the NAIA Championships, Thursday night. UC has tallied 142 points and had a pair of top three finishes on the day.
The Patriots opened the night with a trio of swimmers in the 500 free.
Michelle Weiss, who earned the top time in prelims, clocked a 5:02.15 to finish as the National Runner-Up. It is her second All-American honor of this championship.
Juliana Lopez Morales touched the wall in 5:11.62 to finish eighth and garner her first individual All-American accolade. Freshman
Ugne Takuseviciute dropped three seconds from her prelim time and pulled away from the field to win the consolation final with a time of 5:08.84
Alicja Sedlak clocked a 2:08.05 to win the consolation final and place ninth overall in the 200 IM.
Judit Garreta Yuste went 2:09.26 to place 13
th in the event.
In the final event of the night, the 200 free relay,

Victoria Niska, Takuseviciute teamed up to post a season best time of 1:36.22. That time earned the Patriots a third place finish.
The Patriots return to pool Friday, March 6
th, for the third day of competition at the NAIA Championships. Prelims are set to begin at 9 a.m. with finals taking place at 5 p.m.
