Caudill, Summers Sweep Fixed Pins All-Around Archers of the Year

Statesboro, GA – The Cumberlands archery team notched a successful season that included a pair of team national titles.  Highlighting this year's success were Colton Caudill and Hannah Summers, who swept the fixed pins Collegiate All-Around Archer of the Year.

Both archers garner this honor for the first time in their career as Caudill was the men's fixed pins All-Around Archer of the Year, while Summer is the women's fixed pins All-Around Archer of the Year to cap off an incredible freshman campaign. 
 
Caudill capped off an incredible career garnering the men's fixed pins All-Around Archer of the Year. The junior qualified in the top five at all three championships, including capturing his first individual national title.  Caudill carded a 1,197 during Indoor Nationals to secure the national title, which also marked just his second podium finish.  The Jeremiah, KY native followed that up by shooting the top qualifying score during Outdoor Nationals as he recorded a 687, which was the best score by eight points.  Caudill opened the season placing fifth during 3D Nationals with a score of 422.  In addition to his individual success, Caudill was also part of UC's men's fixed pin team division and mixed fixed pins team that captured gold during outdoor nationals.

A fantastic freshman season leads to Summers capturing All-Around Archer of the Year in the women's fixed pins division.  The Ladoga, IN native accumulated seven points and a pair of top podium finishes to garner this honor. Summers opened the season capturing the 3D national title after carding a 410.  She followed that up by placing fifth at indoor nationals with a score of 1,173, before pulling away from the field and posting the top qualifying mark at outdoor nationals.  The freshman carded a 676, which was 13 points ahead second place, before closing out nationals with the bronze medal for her second individual podium finish. Summers was part of UC's Mixed Fixed Pins team that earned gold and the women's fixed pins team that posted a runner-up finish at outdoor nationals. This marks the fifth straight year that a Patriot archer as garnered All-Around Archer of the Year in the women's fixed pins division.
