Bowling Green, KY - For the first time in his career, Casey DeSilvey was named Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
The Taylorsville, Kentucky native finished with a time of 15:46.48 to place first overall out of 73 runners in the men's 5K at the Berea/Centre Jamboree this past Friday. His time was the fifth fastest in program history in the 5K. The freshman was the top finisher for UC as well as the top finisher in the NAIA at this meet.
DeSilvey's efforts helped UC secure the tie with Centre College. DeSilvey becomes the first Patriot to receive the honor this season and marks the first of his career.
DeSilvey and the Patriots will return to the course on Friday, September 12th at the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State University in Huntsville, Alabama.
