Paducah, KY - The # 11 Patriots Women's Golf team wrapped up play at the Velvet Classic, hosted by Murray State at the Country Club of Paducah. The two-day event was a 54-hole tournament. The Patriots were part of a 16-team field that consisted of primarily NCAA Division 1 schools. Out of 91 golfers, UC placed ninth overall with a score of (+71).
Jasmine Points lead the Patriots by carding rounds of 76 (+4), 75 (+3), and 78 (+6) to secure 20th place overall with a two-day total of 229 (+13). She tallied eight birdies across her rounds.
Right behind her was junior Ainslee Cruce who placed 30th after posting scores of 75 (+3), 76 (+4), and 81 (+9) for a 232 (+16) finish. Cruce scored six birdies during the tournament.
Atchariya Thanaudomkul turned in three solid rounds of 78 (+6), 78 (+6), and 79 (+7), landing her in 36th place at 235 (+19). She finished the tournament with two birdies.
Ginevra Capo continued her consistent play, recording back-to-back 80s (+8) before closing with a 79 (+7). Her two-day total of 239 (+23), including three birdies, placed her 46th.
Rounding out the team scoring was McKenzie Trautman who battled her way to a 65th-place finish after rounds of 81 (+9), 81 (+9), and 85 (+13) for a total of 247 (+31). She notched one birdie for the event.
Also competing individually for the Patriots was Jenna Pike who showed improvement as the tournament went on. After opening with a 91 (+19), she lowered her score to 86 (+14) and capped her tournament with an 82 (+10). Pike placed 83rd overall at 259 (+43) with one birdie.
UC will return to action September 22-23 at The East Tennessee Collegiate, hosted by Milligan University in Johnson City, Tennessee.
