Williamsburg, KY – After leading their teams to wins at the East Tennessee Collegiate golfers Ainslee Cruce and Saran Jantratit have been named the Pepsi Athletes of the Week, the athletic department announced Monday.
Ainslee Cruce earned athlete of the week honors after earning Medalist honors during the East Tennessee Collegiate. Cruce closed out the tournament with a 143 (-1) to finish atop the leaderboard. The Bowling Green, KY native sank six birdies, including three straight on the back nine, to close out the opening round with a 72 (E). Cruce followed that up carding five birdies in the second round to finish the day one-under-par, 71, to take Medalist honors for the first time as a Patriot.
Saran Jantratit earned athlete of the week honors after carding a 137 (-7) to finish runner-up at the East Tennessee Collegiate. The sophomore opened the day with a three-under-par, 69, to ascend the leaderboard. Jantratit bested that score a day later finishing with a 68 (-4) to close out the tournament seven-under-par. Highlighting Jantratit's performances was a hole-in-one on the par 3, 17
th hole, which is the first Patriot hole-in-one since 2016. On the week, he tallied nine birdies and one eagle.
