Williamsburg, KY – After impressive debuts helping the Patriots capture their tenth straight MSC 3D title, archers Ludvig Rohlin and Maria Nunez Montes have been named the Appalachian Wireless Athletes of the Week, the athletic department announced Monday. 
 
Maria Nunez Montes earned Athlete of the Week honors after posting four podium finishes.  Nunez opened with consistent shooting during regionals to carding a 198 in the first round, before coming back with a 199 in the second round.  The freshman closed out regionals scoring 397 with five bonus rings to place second and earn the top-seed for the MSC Championship.  Nunez followed that up, hitting four 12's during the individual shootdowns to lead wire-to-wire and capture her first conference title.  In addition to her individual success Nunez posted a 2-0 mark en route to winning gold in women's recurve team,  before completing the sweep with gold in mixed recurve, winning all of these matches by double digits.
 
Ludvig Rohlin earned Athlete of the Week honors after capturing three titles and four podium finishes in his debut. Rohlin opened the week leading wire-to-wire at USA 3D Regionals as he carded a 406.  The freshman won the championship by an impressive 58 points and broke the program record by 24 points.  Rohlin followed that up with a pair of conference titles in team rounds. He was part of UC's men's barebow team that notched a 2-0 record, including a 153-141 over Lindsey Wilson in  the gold medal match.  Rohlin teamed with Reagan Van Dy to finish atop the podium in the mixed team rounds.  In the individual shootdowns, Rohlin scored 54 points, however placed third on bonus ring count.
