Bowling Green, KY – For the fifth consecutive season, the Patriots men's swimming & diving program has had double-digit student-athletes garner Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced Wednesday. Cumberlands led the conference with 13 honorees earning this distinction.
Garnering this honor for the third straight year are
Marcos del Vado Sanz,
Will Gilbert,
Leon Irmer, and
Ruthiik Satti. In addition,
Adam Geddis captured this honor for the second time as Patriots.
Joining them on then Academic All-Conference team are
Zsombor Bene,
Jeremiah Koenig,
Arda Mutlu, Juan Pablo Ramirez Zapata, Joshua Riegler,
Luke Rich,
Sergio Saldamando Martinez, Alexander Tullberg Poulsen.
In order to be nominated for the Academic All-Conference Team each athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have completed at least one year at a college or university. The MSC also recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values the NAIA embraces.
The Patriots kickoff the MSC Championship Thursday, February 5, at the Centre Aquatic Center. Prelims will begin at 11 a.m.
