UC Sweeps MSC Field Athletes of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, KY – The Patriots swept men's and women's Field Athletes of the Week after an impressive weekend at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite in Louisville, KY. Jelle Golbach was named for the men while Abia Kante earned women's Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
 
Kante competed as the lone Patriot in the long jump on Saturday. In a field loaded with elite talent, the junior came away with 24th individually after a 5.53m best. She hit this mark on her first two attempts of the day.
 
Golbach competed in the heptathlon for UC, recording his top finish in the high jump where he placed fifth after clearing a height of 1.91m. He added a 6.61m long jump, a 12.00m shot put, and crossed the finish line in 7.48 in the 60m dash.
 
The Pats will return to action this weekend as they travel to Birmingham, AL for the UAB Green and Gold Invite.
