Bowling Green, KY – The University of the Cumberlands women's swimming & diving team has excelled both in the water as well as in the classroom.  The Patriots have continued that standard this year as UC had 15 student-athletes garnering Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced Wednesday.
 
Madeline Barbee, Kathryn Harrison, Filippa Malmstrom, Megan Robinson, Celin Ullern, Michelle Weiss, and Sarah Zoellner have garnered this honor for the second straight year.  Joining them on the MSC Academic All-Conference list are Mara Ellerkamp, Taylor Moren, Victoria Niska, Addison Ringwald, Megan Schoenlein, Alicja Sedal, Ugne Takusevicuite, and Sydney Taylor.
 
This marks the third straight year in which Cumberlands led the conference in honorees.   

In order to be nominated for the Academic All-Conference Team each athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have completed at least one year at a college or university. The MSC also recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values the NAIA embraces.
 
The Patriots kickoff the MSC Championship Thursday, February 4, at the Centre Aquatic Center.  Prelims will begin at 11 a.m.
