BOWLING GREEN, KY – After an incredible weekend of competition that saw a pair of NAIA A standards, a school record, and a pair of top-two times in the NAIA, Tavon Davis earns MSC Track Athlete of the Week, MSC officials announced Monday afternoon.
 
Davis won both the 600m and 400m at the UAB Green and Gold Invite this weekend. He began in the 400m, where he clocked a 47.26 to win the event. This time hit the NAIA A standard and was the second fastest finish in the NAIA this year.
 
The Utica, MS native followed with an even better performance in the 600m, clocking a 1:18.16 for the win and the fastest time in the nation this season. His dominant showing also breaks the program record set by Anthony Kabara back in 2001. Kabara is one of the most decorated runners in Cumberlands history.
 
This marks the first MSC Runner of the Week honors for Davis this season. He will return next weekend as the Pats head to Vanderbilt for the Music City Invite.
