Williamsburg, KY – Cumberlands athletics have found their stride this season during crossover season with winter sports looking to make postseason runs, while spring sports have hit the ground running.  An incredible season, highlighted by five wins leads to Patriot Cheerleading earning the Brick Oven Team of the Month honors for February, announced by the athletic department Monday.  The University of the Cumberlands Athletic Department in conjunction with their corporate partner the Brick Oven are presenting the "Brick Oven Team of the Month", which will be awarded to one Patriot team each month.

The Patriots are currently ranked sixth in the NAIA with a scoring average of 89.36 across six competitions.   UC opened their season placing fourth at the Wildcat Weekend Round 1 with an 81.03.  Cumberlands rallied in the second round of that competition scoring an 89.40 to capture their first win over the season against a strong field.

UC followed that up breaking the program record with a 94.05 to win the first round of Tiger Invite.  The Patriots closed out that weekend carding an 87.33 to score six points better than their next closest competitor and notch their third straight win. 

Cumberlands closed out the month tallying a pair of wins the Raider Rumble extending their win streak to a program-best five straight competitions.  The Patriots notched a 93.60 to open the day and followed that up with a 90.77 for their third score over 90+ points this season.

The Patriots now set their sights on the MSC Championships Saturday, March 14^th, in Bowling Green, KY.
